Can it be?  Are sales really up? It’s true.  Things may not be back to where they were at the turn of the century, but we have bounced back from the January slump and have pretty much returned to the numbers we saw last summer.  So, while prosperity may not be right around the corner just yet, it sure seems to be moving into the neighborhood and we hope there are only good things to come for the remainder of 2008.

Coldwell Banker just released their list of the most expensive housing markets in the United States, eight of which are in California, three in the Bay Area.

  1. La Jolla, CA
  2. Greenwich, Conn
  3. Beverly Hills, CA
  4. PALO ALTO
  5. Santa Monica, CA
  6. Santa Barbara, CA
  7. Newport Beach, CA
  8. SAN FRANCISCO
  9. Boston
  10. SAN MATEO

”This year’s study reaffirms that the Bay Area is one of the more expensive housing markets because of our strong economy, excellent universities, beautiful communities and overall quality of life” said Rick Turley, Coldwell Banker Regional President.
